Lenten Devotional 2016

Since 1990, Presbyterian Women of First Presbyterian Church Birmingham Michigan have organized and published a daily devotional during the season of Lent: print booklet, adding daily email and daily blog as those became possible. And over the years, many of us have known the experience of opening the printed booklet or our email and finding words that seem to have been written just for us on that day., words with special meaning for us that writers and editors could not have known ... but God knows. God has ways of speaking to us and through us.

Looking back, we see where we have been - as individuals, as people of faith, as a congregation - and we see how we have been touched and changed in small and mighty ways by those who have traveled with us. Looking forward, we know that God continues to work through us, individually and as a community, in marvelous ways that only God knows. We are grateful to all who have shared a glimpse of their faith journey with us.
In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father in heaven.
Matthew 5:16

We pray that you may find here a word that has special meaning for you, something that speaks to you with words meant for you to hear on a day that you especially need to hear it.

This collection of devotions is offered as a gift to members and friends of our church by Presbyterian Women.
We thank all who submitted devotions, all who helped in great and little ways to collect, organize, print, post, and email.
