Give thanks in all circumstances … (1
Thessalonians 5:18)
Magic Words
Most of us learned, early in life, to use our
“magic words”.
My Mother insisted that magic things would happen
if I simply remembered to say “Please” and “Thank You”.
I’ve learned now, late in life, that she was
right.
Life is smoother, it hums better, when we indicate
our gratitude by acknowledging kind words and deeds.
It becomes a good HABIT that endears us to others.
How easy it is to take each other for granted
especially within the confines of families.
Yet that is when it is needed most.
In the larger family picture I’ve learned that a
higher power is there to hear our prayers.
Do we remember to ASK for what we seek?
More importantly, do we remember to give THANKS
for what we receive?
Louise Westfall (Associate Pastor FPC 1989-2001)
taught us that
“If our only prayer were THANKYOU it would be
enough.”
Remind me Lord to acknowledge thy support each and
every day. Amen
